Your First Trade on PERPTools: Dashboard Navigation Guide
A practical walkthrough of the trading interface—from login to position management. Explore CEX-like trading experience that PERPTools strives to provide.
PERPTools is built to facilitate the adoption of DeFi perps trading, that’s why the dashboard isn't trying to impress you with complexity. It's designed around a simple principle: everything you need to analyze, execute, and manage trades should be visible without scrolling, clicking through menus, or opening secondary windows. Traders can find navigating PERPTools just like on another CEX - straightforward, user-friendly, and convenient.
Here's how to navigate it effectively.
An Overview of the Trading Interface
PERPTools’s interface is genuinely intuitive. Basically, traders can immediately spot all necessary navigation for trading at first sight. At the top left of the website is the Navigation bar, which traders use to direct to Trading (main trading interface), Markets (for your research), Portfolio (for managing your portfolio), Rewards, and DEXTools (big integration incoming!).

On the opposite side, you may find a quick summary of key metrics like Total value, Free collateral, Unrealized PnL, Current leverage, and Max leverage that you can choose to display. Of course these are only viewable when you’re signed in with your wallet, which can be done through the “Connect wallet” button.
The whole section below the top bars is your trading interface.
The Layout: Four Zones that Matter

When traders first land on PERPTools, a trading dashboard with 4 sections will appear as in the image above. From left to right, top to bottom, respectively, we can see:
The Left Side: Market Data
The market data is located on the left side of PERPTools’ trading interface. In this section, fundamental data such as the token's name, volume, leverage, price, and change will be displayed in a specific order. Similar to other platforms, you can adjust filters and sort tokens by these metrics or search specific names or symbols.
PERPTools helps make it easy for traders by providing preprocessed lists of RWA, New listings, or Favourite tokens (all updates are synchronized throughout the platform).
The Center: Price Chart & Order Book
In the PERPTools trading interface, theOrder Book and Last Trades panels provide critical real-time data regarding market liquidity and current price action.
Looking at the center, traders can view and customize the token chart and technical indicators for better understanding of signals & spotting trade opportunities. Right next to the TradingView-provided chart, there is an Order Book with real-time bid/ask ladder with depth visualization.
The Order Book is a digital list of all outstanding buy and sell limit orders for the current pair. In the image below is the PERP_ETH_USDC pair. It is split into three main sections: Sell Orders (Asks), The Spread, and Buy Orders (Bids). We talk to this later in another guide on how to execute trade on the platform.

Then traders may switch to the Last Trades; the view moves from "intent to trade" to "executed trades,” showing the real-time history - the most recent transactions that have actually occurred on the Orderly Network.
The Right Side: Order Entry
This section requires a trader to connect his/her wallet so that they can configure and execute trades. Since PERPTools uses theOrderly Network infrastructure, it offers professional-grade features similar to a centralized exchange (CEX) but settled on-chain. Some fundamental setups include:

- Core Order Settings
- Price & Quantity Inputs
- Risks Management Tools
- Advanced Order Instructions (Time-in-Force)
- Execution & Data
Please refer to our article on How to Configure & Execute Trades on PERPTools for further understanding of each component.
The Bottom: Positioning & Account
In the bottom of the trading interface, traders can find the Position & Account section. This serves as yourtrade management dashboard. This is where you monitor active positions, track history, and manage your account's financial health.
Each tab provides a specific layer of data regarding your interactions with the Orderly Network. There are 8 different tabs in total, but they can be divided into 3 primary categories:
- Activemanagement Tabs - Positions, Pending, TP/SL
- Historical Data Tabs - Filled, Position History, Order History
- Account & Risk Tabs - Liquidation, Assets
PERPTools also allows users to view the Unrealized PnL & Notional (the top left of this section) - a summary of your current open risk. Notional represents the total value of your positions (Price x Quantity), while Unrealized PnL shows your current floating profit or loss.

Besides these tabs, users can customize the Portfolio Settings or just Hide Other Symbols: If checked, the dashboard will only show data for the specific pair you are currently viewing (e.g., just ETH
USDC). If unchecked, it shows all active positions across different assets.
Final Navigation Tips
The PERPTools dashboard is built for speed. Everything critical is visible without clicking into submenus. Your positions, orders, account health, and market data all update in real time without page refreshes.
If something isn't immediately clear, hover over it. Most labels have tooltips explaining the metric.
If you're coming from the integrated research platform, your context—charts, levels, watchlists—carries over automatically. You're not learning a new interface. You're extending the one you already know.
The goal isn't to impress you with features. It's to remove every obstacle between seeing an opportunity and capturing it.
Now open the dashboard. Connect your wallet. Make your first trade.
The interface gets out of your way. Your analysis does the work.
